Can anyone help me with a catholic question?

hi, so i recently i became closer to God, i have been doing prayer and bible reading by my self for a bout a year, and i wanted join Catholicism, but i have 1 question that bothers me. it is about the saints, i know we pray to jesus because he is part of God and its not considered idolatry. but the saints are not part of God, and if i would pray to them, wouldnt that mean that i am committing idolatry? can someone explain this to me please?
