Is trying to look attractive breaking the thou shall not worship graven idols commandmet?

I heard a preacher saying that trying to look good - fancy clothes, cosmetic surgery, make-up, exercise classes etc. is a form of idolatry i.e. making a graven image of yourself and effectively worshiping that image. I know how much pride some women take about their appearance. Even if they claim to be good Christians do you think they are still going to hell for their idolatrous practices?
